Denture Relines, Additions, and Repairs
Denture Relines in Christchurch
If your dentures are starting to feel loose, uncomfortable, or food is getting trapped underneath, it may be time for a denture reline.
Over time your gums naturally change shape. When this happens, your denture may no longer fit as securely as it once did. A reline reshapes the inside surface of your denture so it fits your mouth more accurately again.
Denture relines can improve comfort, stability, and help extend the life of your existing denture.
Please note: In the case of lower dentures, a reline can improve the fit but will not completely eliminate all movement.
Same-Day Reline Service
We offer a same-day denture reline service to minimise the time you are without your denture.
Typically, you would visit us in the morning for an impression and return later in the afternoon once your reline has been completed.
Denture relines must be booked in advance.
Denture Repairs
If your denture becomes cracked, chipped, or broken, we are here to help. Accidents happen, and a damaged denture does not always mean you need a new one.
In many cases, repairs can be completed within 2–3 hours. No appointment is necessary. Simply bring your denture in and we will assess it for you.
When you upgrade to a new set of dentures, the cost of your initial repair is on us. Simply pay for the repair upfront, and we will deduct that amount from the final balance of your new dentures.
Tooth Additions to Existing Dentures
If you need a tooth added to your existing denture, we can help.
Where possible, we usually recommend adding the tooth to your denture before it is extracted. This allows your denture to be immediately fitted by your dentist after the extraction, so you are not left with a gap.
If the tooth has already been removed, we can still add a replacement tooth to your denture. In most cases, a short healing period will be required before the addition can be completed.
For plastic (acrylic) partial dentures, tooth additions can often be completed the same day if you visit in the morning and return in the afternoon.
For metal partial dentures, the timeframe may vary depending on which tooth is being added. Some cases require a laser weld to attach a support for the new tooth to the metal framework, which may take 2–3 days.
Additions must be booked in advance.
